Game of the Day 6-21-10

Game of the Day
Tacoma 4 - Columbus 0

Geronimo Seguignol: Seguignol pitched his first complete game shutout in his young career and picked up his first victory of the season. “My elbow is feeling great and I’m just happy to be pitching again,” Geronimo said.

Clutch Hits: The Buckeye Nuts had a great chance in the first inning with runners on second and third with two outs but Kid Greene flies out the right field to end the inning. In the bottom of the first inning the Saints had the bases loaded with two outs and Manny Hasegawa hits a single to score two runs.

They Also Played ...

Florida 4 - Salem 1: Herman Blair remains unbeaten on the season with a great 8 inning performance today.

Cincinnati 11 - Vancouver 6: Alex Lee has 40 RBI’s and 14 homeruns in only 33 games so far this season. Do you think the Hitmen are missing him?

Durham 6 - Anaheim 0: Alberto Sanchez pitches 8 strong innings and the Hitmen seem to be getting on track.

Monterrey 8 - Chicago 7: Clem Barkley crushes three homeruns with the last one being the game winner.

St. Louis 11 - New Britain 3: I think New Britain would like to go back Tacoma.

Minnesota 5 - Louisville 4: Darren Higginson is hitting .360 on the season. The greatest hitter in league history doesn’t seem to slowing down one bit.

Ottawa 7 - Jacksonville 4: It’s going to be a great race for MVP between Junior Lui of Ottawa and Alex Lee of Cincinnati. Lui is still hitting over .400 and has 52 RBI’s already.

Milwaukee 5 - Jackson 4: Nicholas Lowe hit the game winner but Benito Almanzar tied the game with a blast over the centerfield fence.

Boston 2 - Burlington 1: Nice job by the Bombers for allowing Boston to score only 2 runs but maybe you should ask the offense to join the game.

Charleston 10 - San Jose 9 (11): San Jose is in a bad slump. Could the teams reign of the National League West be over?

Portland 4 - Kansas City 3: It always hurts to see a pitcher pitch a complete game and lose. Better luck next start P.T. Bolton.
