#6 Number One in the Crosshairs

Houston Hitmen

The Hitmen started out as one of the worst teams by losing over 100 games during season one; fortunately, they have gotten better every year since. During season six the Hitmen got all the pieces right and became the second American League team to win the World Series. The Hitmen followed that World Series season by breaking the record for most wins in a season last year with 118 wins and made it to the American Championship game for the second straight year. This team is expected to once again be in the discussion to win the World Series this season.

The total percentage of wins for the Hitmen is .531 (602 victories and 532 losses). The most wins in a single season were 118 during season seven. The most losses in a season were 103 during season one.

Szekrenyi is entering his fifth season as the general manger of the franchise compiling a 401-247 record for a .619 winning percentage. Szekrenyi has taken one of the worst teams in the league and turned it into one of the top teams in the league in a very short time. The team seems to be getting better every year, even with one of the lowest payrolls in the league. Szekrenyi could be looking at another championship run very soon.
