Game of the Day: Philadelphia 6 - Oklahoma City 4
Oklahoma City Giving the game away: It’s going to be hard for the Kingfishers to let this game go. Moises Montero gives up a three-run homerun to pinch-hitter Pedro Alvarez with out in the bottom of the ninth.
Just get past the first inning: Andres Guerrero gave up four runs, 3 hits and 3 walks the first inning. The next 6 innings he only gave up 6 hits, 1 walks and 0 runs. Good job for a 22 year old pitcher for hanging in there.
Player to keep an Eye on: King Mateo is a player everyone needs to keep there eye on. After today 4-4 performance he’s hitting .353, .424 OBP, 6 homeruns and 27 RBI’s.
They Also Played ...
Chicago 6 - Tacoma 4 (15 innings): Kevin Morgan ends the marathon with a walk-off homerun. Despite stealing 8 stolen bases Tacoma can’t find a way to win.
Milwaukee 4 - New York 3: I think everyone was expecting a slug fest here.
Monterrey 2 - San Jose 1: Don’t be surprised if Tommie Relaford wins the Cy Young this season.
Burlington 3 - Portland 2: “I’m not hitting very well right now but hopefully driving in that run will turns things around for me,” Rod Champion says about his game winning run.
Florida 11 - Columbus 0: Who said Florida doesn’t have any offense?
Durham 11 - Boston 5: 6 homeruns, 17 runs scored. I’d expect nothing less from these two teams.
Cleveland 10 - Louisville 2: Who says Cleveland doesn’t have an offense?
Arizona 5 - Scranton 4: Nothing like driving in the winning run from a walk. But Max Figureoa isn’t complaining to much.
Jackson 6 - Iowa City 1: Not the way Orber Santiago thought his comeback season would start. Giving up 6 runs in 2.2 innings could send him back to the minors.
Dover 5 - Minnesota 0: It took 10 starts but Pablo Mota finally wins his first game of the season. Look for his second win around the 20th start.
Anaheim 4 - Jacksonville 2: Anything and everything I said about Rodrigo Romero at the beginning of the season I take back.
Ottawa 3 - Vancouver 2 (10 innings): Howard “The Duck” Duckworth has become my favorite name in the league.
Charleston 5 - St. Louis 2: The Alomar family is sure proud of Juan Alomar. You know Carlos Alomar the guitarist.
Cincinnati 8 - Kansas City 6: I think it’s save to say Wilson Fisher won’t win 20 games for the 5th straight season.
